Join Our Volunteer Family
At the Lethbridge Food Bank, volunteers are at the heart of everything we do. When you give your time, you help ensure individuals and families in our community have access to food with dignity and care. Whether you can help weekly, monthly, or occasionally, your support truly makes a difference.

Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteer roles may vary based on current needs, but generally include:
- Sorting and organizing food donations
- Packing food hampers
- Warehouse and light cleaning support
- Event and seasonal support opportunities
- Hamper and produce distribution, directly serving our clients
- Food preparation/packing for our school lunch program
- Driver assistance for our donation pick ups
- Drivers for our school lunch program
All volunteers receive guidance and support to ensure a positive and safe experience.
What to Expect
- Volunteer Orientation – Learn about our mission, safety guidelines and available roles.
- Facility Tour – See how your time directly supports our programs.
- Getting Rostered – Once oriented, you may be scheduled based on availability and current capacity.
If volunteer spots are full, you may be placed on a waitlist and contacted when space becomes available.
Volunteer Shifts
Regular volunteer shifts are typically available:
- Monday to Friday
- 9:30 AM – 12:00 PM or 1:00 PM – 3:30 PM
Shift availability may vary depending on operational needs.
Who Can Volunteer?
- Volunteers must be able to follow safety guidelines and work respectfully with others.
- Please note: Current food bank clients are not able to volunteer at this time. We truly appreciate your interest and understanding.
- Volunteers under 18 require parental consent.

Important Notes for Accepted Volunteers
- Volunteer onboarding forms are password-protected and will be provided by a Lethbridge Food Bank team member.
- Orientation and basic training are required before your first shift.
